An email notification in VAKTEN refers to an operational deviation. VAKTEN compares the current actual state of a monitored Unit with the target state defined in its rules.
When is an email sent?
A deviation does not necessarily trigger a message immediately. VAKTEN first takes the tolerance or delay defined for the rule into account.
- The current actual state differs from the defined target state.
- VAKTEN applies the configured tolerance or delay period.
- If the state returns to the target range within this period, no persistent deviation remains.
- If the deviation continues and email notification is enabled, VAKTEN can send a message to the configured recipient address.
Enable notifications
Open the relevant Unit and then Rules. Open the required rule and enable “Send email when VAKTEN needs to respond” in the Notification section.
An alternative recipient address can be entered if required.
Local and system-wide permission
Notification is enabled locally in the Unit's rule area. Email delivery can also be permitted or blocked system-wide in Settings. A message is sent only when the required permissions are enabled.
Offline monitoring is separate
The email described here reports an operational target/actual deviation. Loss of communication from a HJÄRTA is handled separately by VAKTEN's offline monitoring.
